    Plus

    • Slicker design
    • Dedicated camera key
    • Lower price

    Minus

    • Battery life could be better
    • Not water-resistant
    • Terrible keyboard recognition

    Conclusion
The Xperia X doesn't really fall into any camp as a smartphone. It's not the best-performer in any category, but it's not the cheapest of its kind either. It's lost some of the magic that Sony usually offers, and adds in some annoying bugs, but the base components of good audio and a capable camera will still win some hearts.

  • Sony Xperia X

    Plus

    • Solid performance
    • Good camera
    • Expandable storage
    • Most bloatware, including stock apps, can be uninstalled

    Minus

    • Relatively expensive
    • Average specs
    • Not waterproof

    Conclusion
The Sony Xperia X is an unlocked Android phone with good overall performance, but it's priced too high for what you get.

  • Sony Xperia X

    Plus

    • The Sony Xperia X is a winning compact phone for its high-quality camera and ergonomic in-hand fit. The dedicated camera button gives you a convenient quick-shoot option.

    Minus

    • Battery life is constrained, and the fingerprint reader won't work on the US version of the phone.

    Conclusion
A reliable and likable midrange phone, the Xperia X stands out for its palm-friendly build and strong camera, but we can't recommend it for US customers.

    • Medelmåttig batteritid
    • Låg Wi-Fi-prestanda
    • Reklam i mjukvaran

    Slutsats

    konsumenter.

  • Sony Xperia X review: Sony in a spin?

    Plus

    • Good cameras
    • Stamina mode will see the battery last you through the day
    • Perfectly operable for day-to-day tasks

    Minus

    • Price puts it at odds with competition
    • Fingerprint scanner isn't the best
    • No waterproofing
    • Less exciting screen design than Xperia XA

Conclusion The Sony Xperia X is something of an oddity. It offers a pair of decent cameras in a package that's nicely designed. The specs are fitting for a mid-range device, delivering the performance you'll need for day-to-day tasks. However, priced as it is at £459, the Xperia X falls into the same trap as the HTC One A9 did last year: it's too close to flagship prices, sitting in a strange middle ground. That makes it look rather expensive compared to a phone like the OnePlus 3, while lacking the premium sheen of the true flagships.Additionally the X is underminded by the more exciting edge-to-edge display of Sony's own Xperia XA, lacks the waterproofing of the Xperia Z5, while many of its features are average compared to the advancing and competitive world of mid-range handsets. So while the Xperia X doesn't really do much wrong and is a potentially solid choice, it's the surrounding competition and lack of cohesion in the range that stop it being top pick.

  • Sony Xperia X review

    Plus

Good screen, fast fingerprint scanner, impressive soundstage, clean Android experience

    Minus

Bland and unintuitive design, so-so camera, heat problems, ridiculous price

ConclusionWe find it hard to recommend the Xperia X in the face of stiff competition and niggling performance wrinkles.

  • Sony Xperia X review

Conclusion We wish we could rate the Sony Xperia X more highly than we have. It has a stunning design with a screen size ideal for those who prefer the smaller end of the spectrum. The 5in screen is the sweet-spot for us here. It also offers a great battery life, a brilliant camera and performance that should satisfy the majority of users. But with a price tag of more than £450, this phone is overpriced. When you compare it with the competition both in terms of price and specs, you can get a lot better value for money elsewhere which makes the Xperia X hard to recommend, even if money is no object.
