Good:
- Fantastic environmental puzzles are among the best of the series
- Great boss fights require you to use every game mechanic at your disposal
- Atmospheric levels are a pleasure to explore
- Various gameplay elements mesh nicely into a seamless whole.
Bad:
- Some of the contextual actions don't control all that well
- Streamlined controls make things a little too easy and a little less adventurous
- Doesn't do much different than the previous two Metroid Prime games.
Verdict:
Slick controls and great boss fights make Corruption a worthy end to the Metroid Prime trilogy. -
There’s a huge amount to talk about with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, but we’ve deliberately been a little light on the details because this is a game that’s all about discovery and atmosphere and best experienced first hand. The important thing to take away from this review is that Corruption is the finest first person title on the Wii to date, with brilliantly implemented controls, great art design and great gameplay. A worthy new addition to the series.
Presentation (9.0/10): Stunning art direction. Loading times are generally well masked, although there’s often a brief wait for doors to open.
Graphics (8.5/10): Corruption proves that raw visual power isn’t everything. A little jaggy on big screens but great nonetheless.
Sound (9.0/10): The score really adds to the atmosphere in this game. Good sound effects too.
Gameplay (9.5/10): The controls feel great, Samus’ abilities grow organically, the maps are brilliantly structured, bosses and mini-bosses are fun. Plus, any game where you open doors by shooting them is cool with us.
Lasting Appeal (8.5/10): Pretty decent length playthrough, especially compared to most first person shooters, but it’s a shame there’s no online play. -

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was originally set to launch with Wii, but
the year-long delay has been very much worth the wait. Call it a first-
person shooter or a first-person adventure -- doesn't matter. I call it
the best game on Nintendo's console. It is clear from the moment you
pick up the controller that Prime 3 was developed exclusively for Wii.
Not only do the new controls respond quicker and with more precision
than any dual-analog-helmed FPS ever created, but the gesture system
works brilliantly, too. Meanwhile, the title delivers everything a Metroid
fan could hope for, including spectacular environmental puzzles, epic
boss fights and intense combat, all wrapped up in a package that
spans multiple worlds and is filled with re-traversal exploration. A
cinematic storyline made possible by beautiful art and graphics rounds
out the experience, which is complemented by a medal system and
WiiConnect24 compatibility.
There are a couple of minor quibbles that keep Prime 3 from a higher
score. The first and most obvious is that the game is a sequel and thus
inherently feels familiar. While Corruption features more variety than
any of its predecessors, it's not the design revolution that the original
game was. Also, as you explore the world, you will occasionally
encounter doorways that take longer than they should to open, as they
are loading the next area. Thankfully, this is a rare occurrence, but it
does occur. And finally, while the majority of the 20-hour experience
flows, there's one fetch quest that interrupts the pace.
We rated the original Metroid Prime a 9.8 on GameCube and had
Corruption been the first game in the series it'd have been worthy of
the same score. As it stands, Samus Aran's latest adventure is a
spectacular must-own experience and one of Wii's defining games.
Stop reading and buy it.Presentation (10/10): The best yet in the Prime series, Corruption comes to life with atmoshperic cinemas and voice acting. Meanwhile, a medal system and WiiConnect24 support offer great incentive to keep playing.
Graphics (9.5/10): Currently, Wii's best looking game. Retro's artistic sense is second to none. Prime 3 includes a welcomed variety of gorgeous planets to explore and runs in 480p / 16:9 at 60 frames per second.
Sound (10/10): The score by Kenji Yamamoto is as moody as ever, even featuring throwbacks to some previous games. The sound effects are punchy and the voice acting is well implemented.
Gameplay (9.5/10): Spectacular. Controls better than any console first-person game before it, features great pacing and a fun mix of puzzles and shooting. In contrast, there's a tedious fetch quest and some door loads.
Lasting Appeal (9.0/10): At 20-plus hours, it stands tall next to the other Prime games. The single-player affair is a little easier, but you can extend replay by scanning everything or playing again in Hyper Mode. -
gameplay: 9.0/10
graphics: 9.0/10
fun: 9.0/10In the end, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption may not be the most groundbreaking title of the franchise but it does warrant a fantastic conclusion that I don’t think any Wii owner or Metroid fan can afford to miss. If you have any inclination of checking this game out, then don’t hesitate, this is one of the best Wii titles of the year.

Gamepyre
I would even recommend this game to people who have never played another Metroid Prime, and even to those who haven't played another Metroid
game at all. This game delivers itself in such a way that it can easily stand alone from the rest of the series. Expect a very enjoyable usage
of your $50 if you choose to pick this one up. Even if you aren't too interested, I would suggest any fan of FPS games pick this one up for an
experience like no other. A good long storyline, albeit difficult at times, with a lot of little explore able areas and items to unlock is
always a good bet when gaming. -

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Review
Plus
- Masterful level design, Clever controls, Dizzying highs
Minus
- Sleep-inducing lows, First 25% weak, Throwaway story
ConclusionThe truth of the matter is that the storytelling is just one not-so-great addition they’ve made in a series of other great additions, like the spot-on implementation of the Wii controls. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption blossoms into a fun, massive game with a tiny bit of heart, and if this is the high note in the trilogy it is a perfectly agreeable conclusion.
